On behalf of the LIBER Architecture Group (LAG), I am delighted to introduce the digital database of new library buildings in Europe. A wide range of projects including new buildings, renovations, refurbishments and extensions is presented here based on documentation collected for the 2012 LIBER Architecture Group Seminar. Our aim is to provide mainly librarians and architects with a wide variety of case studies. Hopefully, people involved in building projects will be able to find relevant projects, to gain new ideas, to make professional contacts and to learn from each other.

We hope to include information from earlier volumes soon.

I am confident that this will become an important and accessible resource of information on library buildings throughout Europe.
